Gawker introduces Thomas Ryan, a man who worked as a snitch for the NYPD and FBI to keep authorities abreast of Occupy Wall Street's activities and plans. Ryan got emails sent to members of one of Occupy Wall Street's mailing lists and sent them to law enforcement members and others interested in what organizers were up to, according to Gawker.

US-CERT – Apple Releases Multiple Security Updates

Apple has released security updates for Apple iOS, Safari 5.1.1, OS X Lion v10.7.2, iWork 09, and Apple TV 4.4 to address multiple vulnerabilities. Exploitation of these vulnerabilities may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, cause a denial-of-service condition, obtain sensitive information, and bypass security restrictions.

In the following weeks, the Department of Homeland Security will be hosting events across the nation to bring cybersecurity awareness to your state and your community. Scammers waste no time in exploiting Steve Jobs’ death

As much of the world mourns the passing of Steve Jobs -- one of the technology industry's greatest visionaries -- the bottom feeders of the cyber crime world are greedily exploiting the tragedy through scams promising unwitting users a chance to win a free iPad. Sophos has reported in its Naked Security blog on one such scam already circulating via Facebook that reads as follows: "In memory of Steve, a company is giving out 50 ipads tonight. R.I.P. Steve Jobs," followed by a tailored bit.ly link ending with "restinpeace-steve-jobs." Clicking the link takes users to one of countless malicious Web pages.
